About Surveying, Mapping & Reporting

Control of invasive plant species requires planning, and a plan is only as good as the data it’s formed on. An accurate and detailed survey is the cornerstone of any robust Management plan.

We offer a full suite of services including desktop surveys, GPS/GIS field work data collection, digital mapping, distribution maps and reporting.

We provide survey services to a varied clientele across a wide range of project types, from Flood Relief Schemes, Cycle ways, Greenways, Road Construction, Housing and Civil Engineering projects

Surveying

GPS mapping provides us with accurate data for each distinct site of IAPS. IAPS treatments for a given site can be easily tracked over several years using this survey data and unique identifiers.

It is also invaluable on infrastructure or development projects, where it can be overlayed onto construction drawings to determine where potential conflicts will arise during the construction phase. By identifying the conflict areas, real world solutions can be planned and realised with minimal delay to the project.

Another application is that it can provide valuable information of quantities of potential soil material for excavation works if the need arises.

Mapping

All collected survey data is processed in-house using third party software such as AutoCAD and QGIS, as well as some proprietary software.

As well as IAPS mapping, additional data is normally collected in the field about each site. This could be information on new sites, site specific photography, changes to a given site that may have an impact, site specific treatment data, risk assessments etc.

Management of this data correctly is essential in creating an accurate record for past and future interested parties.
